报告摘要:My talk will fall into two parts. In the first part, I will talk about my recent theoretical study of the excited states of defects in silicon, which have a great potential for quantum technologies and terahz radiation. By combining first-principles calculations and quantum chemistry methodology, we have computed the excitation energies and spectra for a donor pair in silicon. In the second part, I will discuss the other type of semiconductors, magnetic organic semiconductors formed by transition-metal phthalocyanine molecules, which can be an important research area and material platform in the future for spintronics, quantum computing, and solar cells. I will show they have a very long spin-lattice relaxation time, and robust magnetic properties with an exchange interaction higher than the boiling point of liquid nitrogen, which is rare in organic semiconductors.
